14 DAYS OF SUPERMAN/CLARK AND LOIS LANE
↳ Day 4: A scene that represents them to you - “Supergirl” (Smallville)On the surface, this scene is two beautiful people sharing a beautiful reunion. But while the chemistry is undeniable, the other layers of this scene allow it to best represent the Clark and Lois relationship. Here we have Lois and Clark on the verge of their professional and personal destinies; they are brimming with potential. Lois’ journalistic talents have taken her to Egypt and back while Clark’s heroic efforts have raised his profile so much he’s become the primary target of the hope-killing and hero-hating Gordon Godfrey. Their confidence and their love are about to be tested, which makes Lois’ jubilant return all the more significant and heartwarming.
Right at the moment that Godfrey is attacking the Blur as a freak and a menace, Lois comes home to whisper welcome affirmation, which Clark answers with a smile and his own affirmation: “There’s only one Lois Lane.” For Lois, who once worried about not being “special” and left believing herself a burden, Clark’s simple statement is a sign that maybe her “chocolate” and “his peanut butter” could mix after all. Also affirmed is their partnership—their journalistic one and, more implicitly, their romantic one—when Clark asks to be partners again and Lois accepts, foreshadowing their engagement soon afterward.
Clark and Lois are never stronger than when they are a team hand in hand, side by side, helping one another embrace all that they are—the good and the bad—with humor, hope, and most of all love. That’s not just Smallville’s Lois and Clark to me, but the essence of this iconic couple.

↳ Day 1 Favorite Quote - ”I wanted these vows to be perfect, but perfection’s a hard thing to get your hands on. But life is meant to be a little messy. And when it comes to love, I think it’s like my dad always said about the army. You only sign up if it’s the only thing you can ever imagine doing. And Clark, I cannot imagine spending a moment of my life without you. So I promise that I will always have your back as you will always have mine. You’re my best friend, you’re my home, and you are my true love, and I am yours and will be forever.” — Lois Lane, Smallville “Finale”
